Property in Monserrat

Monserrat is located just south east of Valencia City. It is a typical Spanish town, set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The town lies at the foot of the breathtaking Castellet Mountain in fertile agricultural land – the surrounding fields are full of citrus groves, vineyards and almond trees.

Though Monserrat is essentially in the country, a short motorway drive will take you to the city of Valencia. Valencia is the third largest city in Spain - a thoroughly modern city, yet bursting with fascinating history, hosting many festivals including the famous Las Fallas festival – a week of celebration and fireworks! Valencia can also be reached from Monserrat by bus and train.

An amble through the streets of Monserrat will take you through the town’s picturesque old quarter, with its jumble of whitewashed buildings. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and modern amenities yet there is still a relaxed, typically Spanish, atmosphere. One of the main attractions close to Monserrat is the Albufera Natural Park and lake. Albufera is a beautiful, peaceful area surrounded by rice paddies. Along the coastline of the Albufera are many broad sandy beaches. This area is especially popular in the summer months.

Monserrat is also host to a Chamber Music week. This festival enjoys eight nights of classical music being performed in the open air, with a different orchestra playing each night.

Monserrat is approximately a 30 minute drive from Valencia airport. Alicante airport is about a 2 hour drive away.
